the ZPO examines the long-term consequences of genocide, political inaction, and chronic insecurity in Sinjar, which have significantly disempowered historic communities. Yazidi-led community institution, Yazda and ZPO have published a new policy paper with the Wilson Center Middle East Program. The second in a two-part policy series, the paper aims to equip national and international stakeholders with community-led and actionable policy recommendations that represent the both urgent and long-term needs on the ground in Sinjar. Recommendations emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive and sustainable solutions to protect vulnerable populations, address security vacuums, and foster long-term stability in the region through collaborative efforts and policy implementation.
